Community Organisation Support

Digital Skills & Community Capacity Building

I provide practical digital skills support for adults and community groups, built around real tasks that are meaningful within a community or organisational setting. This includes support with everyday digital skills such as document creation, basic design and branding, and using tools like Canva, email, and online platforms. The focus is on building confidence and independence, while also supporting employability and progression through relevant, hands-on learning.

Community Employment (CE) Participant Support

I support CE Participants through learner-centred digital and employability projects that reflect the work of the host organisation. This may include working together to create professional documents, promotional materials, or other resources that are useful in a real workplace context. This approach helps Participants develop transferable skills, confidence, and experience that can support progression to employment, further training, or QQI-accredited programmes.

Funding & Organisational Support

I work with community organisations to support the development of funding applications and related materials. This includes helping to shape and clarify written content, support with digital submission processes, and ensuring applications clearly reflect the work and impact of the organisation. Support is delivered using plain English and an accessible, practical approach, with attention to funder requirements.

Branding & Digital Presence for Community Organisations

I support community organisations to develop clear, accessible branding and digital materials that reflect their values and the work they do. This can include logos, simple websites, and promotional materials for services, events, or community initiatives. All work is designed with sustainability in mind, ensuring organisations feel confident using and maintaining their materials independently.

Learner-Centred Programme & Resource Development

I design tailored workshops, short programmes, and learning resources informed by adult and community education principles and QQI-aligned practice. Programmes are developed collaboratively with organisations and learners to ensure they are relevant, inclusive, and supportive of progression. This work supports organisations to embed reflective, learner-centred approaches within their existing programmes and activities.

Support can be delivered on a project basis or through ongoing collaboration, depending on the needs of the organisation

Working in Practice: Abbeyquarter Community Centre

I have worked closely with the Abbeyquarter Community Centre, based in Cranmore, Sligo, on a range of projects supporting digital skills development, Community Employment (CE) Participant learning, and organisational capacity.

This work has included:

  • Co-creation of a Community Employment Scheme brochure with CE Participants

  • Supporting the development of funding applications

  • Creating a range of digital and promotional resources such as a logo, website, flyers, posters, and branded materials for the Gate Lodge Café.

All work was carried out in a collaborative and learner-centred way, with CE Participants actively involved in planning, drafting, and reviewing materials. This approach supported the development of practical digital skills, confidence, and transferable workplace experience, while also delivering useful, professional resources for the organisation.

Outcomes:

  • Professional organisational and promotional resources developed and now in use

  • Increased digital confidence and participation among CE Participants

  • Practical, real-world learning embedded within everyday organisational activity

  • Strengthened visibility and capacity of a community-led project
